The Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr Craig Chittick and the Australian Consul-General Ho Chi Minh City, Ms Karen Lanyon hosted an Australian Alumni event in Da Nang recently. Australian Volunteer, Ms Sarah Day who represents Trinh Foundation Australia in Vietnam, attended the event and met with the Australian diplomats. Sarah spoke with both the Ambassador and the Consul-General about her role as a volunteer in Da Nang at the University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy, and the significant project that Trinh Foundation Australia is currently undertaking in partnership with a range of Vietnamese organisations to develop and implement the pilot Masters and Bachelor of Speech and Language Therapy across Vietnam.
Ms Karen Lanyon announced a Women’s Leadership conference to be held in Ho Chi Minh City in October, with the focus on women’s health and development in Vietnam. Sarah and Karen spoke about the Trinh Foundation Australia Beyond Borders Mentoring Program and Karen was very interested in hearing more about the program and the impact this is having on young women in Vietnam. Karen invited Sarah to attend the conference to share about the development and outcomes of the mentoring program. Sarah is really excited to have the opportunity to share with a wider community about the great work of TFA in Vietnam! Thank you to the Australian Consul-General (HCMC) for your interest in our work!
