Continuing professional development for graduates

TFA has already supported two postgraduate training courses in speech therapy (2010-2014), in partnership with the University of Pham Ngoc Thach in HCMC.

There are now 33 Vietnamese-trained speech therapists working in hospitals, health centres and schools, in HCMC, Hue and Hanoi – and we want to help them continue to learn and grow.

We are committed to those graduates’ continuing professional development (CPD): the learning and professional growth they all need to sustain and further their knowledge and skills in speech therapy.

A comprehensive plan of action for professional development in speech therapy and clinical practice is being rolled out that includes mentoring, expert workshops, master classes, seminars, journal clubs and even national tours by visiting speech therapy specialists.

As you can imagine we need many volunteers to fill these roles. Would you – could you? – offer to help this program of continuing professional development. You could travel to Vietnam as a volunteer and give of your own expertise, nominate someone you know who can help, or even raise funds to support this work. Find out how you can volunteer.
