Dysphagia updates in Hanoi

Ms Rose Beeching conducts Dysphagia workshops in Hanoi in October.

Rose commented “It was a new and great experience for me to deliver these workshops… I would very much like to be involved in more training courses in the future.”

Rose has also presented workshops at the Rehabilitation Hospital and the National Geriatric Hospital in Hanoi. In attendance were doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and Speech Therapists from many different hospitals as well as other parts of the country. They eagerly learnt more about dysphagia benefiting greatly from the theoretical elements of the course while also gaining practical skills. The participants were hopeful that more dysphagia courses could be run in future in other locations in Vietnam.

Rose , a Speech Therapist from the UK, provided mentoring in Vietnam with adult patients with feeding, dysphagia, dysarthria, stroke and brain injury, cognitive communication and aphasia as well as general adult rehabilitation.
