Knowledge & experience

Ms Kim Tuyền works at ENT Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. Sometimes speech therapy client journeys are not what we first expect.

Recently, Ms Kim Tuyen was successful in therapy with a 17 year old girl who was diagnosed as having voice problem. However, after listening to her voice and her difficulties, Ms Tuyền recognized the problem was not a voice disorder like her father thought. Instead, the girl had a fluency disorder. With Speech Therapy knowledge and clinical experience, she thoroughly explained and finally convinced the father. The girl and Ms Kim Tuyen worked hard in speech therapy therapy and the girl learned to manage her stuttering well with prolonged speech strategy. The therapist found confidence in the girl’s eyes and her father was really pleased with therapy outcomes.

Do you have a story about a successful client journey that was very different to what you first expected?
