Energetic and passionate discussions at a workshop in HCMC on ‘Development of a training framework for a speech and language therapy course at Master’s degree level in Vietnam’, 13 – 15 December 2017.
This workshop was hosted by MCNV, with input from TFA. The outcome of the workshop will be a training framework that is suited to the Vietnamese context, for submission as part of a proposal to the Ministry of Education and Training in early 2018.
Participants are committed advocates for a sustainable future for the Speech and Language Therapy profession in Vietnam. The workshop includes presentations about existing speech therapy programs in Vietnam, identified needs for the future, international standards for training frameworks, and requirements of the Vietnamese higher education context. TFA and PNTU are contributing to this project based on experiences of previous course frameworks and a current research project: Needs Assessment on Speech and Language Therapy Education in Viet Nam. Prof Lindy McAllister and Emily Armstrong are attending and presenting.
