“I recently had the opportunity to work with and be mentored in person by the amazing woman and professional Professor Lindy McAllister. I still recall when I initially applied to the Australian Volunteer Program (AVP) that the Directors of Trinh Foundation wanted to interview me. AVP told me Lindy would be on the panel. I have to admit I was slightly overwhelmed!
Since that time I have had the opportunity to work with the most incredible professionals, both academics and clinicians, who make up the board of Trinh Foundation Australia. Lindy, along with Mrs Sue Woodward, are the founding directors of TFA, and both continue to work tirelessly for the development of Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) in Vietnam. Lindy has been involved in volunteering for Vietnam for over 20 years. What an amazing gift.
Lindy spent the week in Da Nang with us recently, facilitating a few workshops to engage and consult with necessary stakeholders across Vietnam in the development of the training framework and syllabus outline for the Bachelors program. I was privileged to have Lindy join with my family on a number of occasions for dinner during that week. Lindy is one of the most down to earth people I’ve ever met, especially considering all that she has accomplished during her career. I’m so glad and lucky to be able to call Lindy my teacher, mentor and friend.
Thank you Lindy for your ongoing dedication and service to the people and development of SALT in Vietnam. Thank you for your genuine interest in people and their stories and for seeing the best in people, including me.“
