In June, Australian Volunteer Leah Paice delivered two training workshops for nursing staff at Da Nang C Hospital, focusing on Dysphagia Management for patients with swallowing disorders.
Leah has been working with three speech therapists at C Hospital on a weekly basis to provide mentoring and training with the aim of up-skilling clinicians and supporting them to further develop the Speech Therapy service at C Hospital. C Hospital has partnered with Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy to support students from the Bachelor of Rehabilitation (Speech and Language Therapy) to complete their clinical placements over the coming years. Their support will allow for valuable training opportunities for the Bachelor of SALT students throughout their degree.
Part of Leah’s role a C Hospital involves raising awareness about the profession of speech therapy within the hospital. In addition to working closely with the Speech Therapy team, Leah also provides training to Medical Doctors and Nurses in order improve the care provided to patients with communication or swallowing disorders.
Our database contains the locations of over 33 speech therapists and clinics located in Vietnam.
