Paid opportunities to support speech therapy degrees in Vietnam

Trinh Foundation Australia is a partner in a large US AID agency grant to develop and establish Masters and Bachelor speech and language therapy degrees in Vietnam.

COVID-19 means we have had to move academic subjects online, and support local Vietnamese certificate level speech and language therapists to deliver clinical placements. To enable ongoing delivery of the degrees, we have created 3 positions, to be paid at a semi-volunteer rate. Up until now all teaching and supervision has been provided by volunteers for no payment.

  1. We have developed an online learning program for Vietnamese SLTs who will be the local placement supervisors. This program consists of the supervisors working through modules and meeting on line with a facilitator in Australia (or elsewhere) to discuss their learning and how the concepts and knowledge could be applied in Vietnam. We are seeking a facilitator for this program. This position would suit someone with experience in clinical education and cross-cultural experience, who wanted to work a contained number of hours across the year. See the JD for dates and details.
  2. For the final two placements in both degrees we are seeking to provide tele-supervision from Australia (or elsewhere) for 20 hrs a week. The tele-supervisors would observe and provide feedback on students’ clinical work, and support the local SLT supervisor. We need up to 4 tele-supervisors for each placement period (See the JD for dates and details). These positions would suit people working part-time who wanted to extend their practice skills and cross-cultural experience.
  3. We are also seeking a clinical educator experienced in tele-supervision to coordinate the tele-supervisors (see point 2 above) and the tele-supervision project. See the JD for dates and details.

All roles will be supported by speech and language therapy interpreters, trained by Trinh Foundation and based in Vietnam.

The JDs provide contact details and closing details for applications. NB: for one positions, applications close December 7.
